Art Classes

Sally teaches art in her garden log cabin in Chandler’s Ford. She offers after school classes, children’s workshops during the holidays, family workshops, and adult art nights. She is fully insured and enhanced DBS checked.

The weekly after school art classes are for children aged 9 and above, to create vibrant works of art, while learning to use a variety of different media, and developing real confidence in drawing and painting.

These 1.5 hr art sessions run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during term-time. The students use all sorts of high quality art materials, such as chalk, charcoal, pastels, acrylic paints, watercolours, brusho, Chinese & Indian inks, and Manga Promarkers. There are currently waiting lists for all the classes. If you are interested in finding out more please do get in contact.

During school holidays Sally often runs half-day watercolour or acrylics workshops for children aged 9 and above. Usually animal-themed, the students first learn how to draw their chosen subject, and then follow Sally’s steps to add the layers of paint with lashings of colour and energy!

Sally runs private parties. For six people, a painting party of 2.5 hours is £40pp, all materials included, and the subject will be tailored to your choice. So whether it’s a child’s birthday party, or a social evening get-together with friends, contact Sally to discuss your own private party.

In the summer of 2021 Sally and her family built this lovely light garden studio where she now runs classes and workshops.

A new insightful book on Teaching Creative Workshops has just been launched in 2025, written by Patricia van den Akker, Director of the Design Trust. Sally is really delighted to have been featured as one of the case studies, charting her journey through setting up, creating online courses through Covid, building the cabin studio, and running joyful art classes for both children and adults.
