STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO ORDERING AN ANIMAL PORTRAIT

  1. See my Pet Gallery for some examples of previous commissions.

  2. It is essential to have some good photos of your animal. Please see my tips on taking the best photos. If you wish to commission a wildlife subject I may be able to source a photo for you.

  3. Contact me to email/send as many high resolution photos as you can, so that I can ensure they are suitable for working from.

  4. When you have chosen what size portrait you would like, we will discuss when you would like the portrait to be done, in relation to my waiting list. Waiting times vary, ranging from 1 - 3 months, according to my workload which is mostly dependent on the time of year. I can sometimes meet shorter deadlines, so it is always worth asking. The completion time is worked out from when I receive your photos and payment.

  5. On placing your order you may pay in full, or as a 50% deposit, online with a debit/credit card, via PayPal.com or by cheque if you are in the UK. Once I have received your photos and payment you will have a slot on my waiting list and I will keep you informed about when I'm working on the portrait and where you may find it online when it is completed. I will despatch the painting to you once you have confirmed you are completely happy with it.

PAINTING STYLES

There are 2 different styles to choose from:

Contemporary Loose - Full colour loose watercolour

This style is the less expensive option as it takes less time. The eyes and features are still in detail but the overall painting is looser, expressive, and has more energy to it - a popular contemporary style. Please click on this picture example for a larger view.

Detailed Traditional - Highly detailed portrait

This is the traditional pet portrait detailed style. You may choose to have your portrait in monotone Graphite (pencil with charcoal) or in full colour Watercolour or Pastel. Please click on this picture example for a larger view.

Overseas postage & packing (International Signed For) is £30 for up to, and including, the 12" x 16" size, and £50 for the larger sizes.

Portraits are unframed, as frames are such a personal choice. If you would prefer it to be framed I can arrange this for you at an additional price.

I would be delighted to discuss with you other sizes, adding backgrounds, multiple animals, full length portraits, complicated compositions, and any wildlife subjects.

GIFT CERTIFICATES

If you have run out of time you could always purchase one of my gift certificates to give as an alternative present. This works really well if you do not have a photo of the animal, and the recipient can then arrange for the portrait to be done when they are ready. These vouchers start at as little as 50 to help towards the portrait cost; valid for 12 months. For more information please contact me for a Gift Certificate.

FULL GUARANTEE

I offer a 100% money back guarantee on every animal portrait to ensure complete satisfaction. On completing the portrait I will put it online for you to check and will not post it to you until you are completely satisfied.
